Wedding – Anna & Fredrik

The wedding between Anna and Fredrik didn’t come as a surprise, on the contrary, it wasn’t a day too soon. They met in high-school, sweethearts ever since, two beautiful daughters and a love amazingly strong to witness. Their wedding day was extraordinary in every way possible and being there was a privilege. See for yourselves.

Oceanroad

We went for a short weekend trip to Helsinki with the kids across the Baltic Sea with a cruise ship one summer. They had fun, and so had I. Also shot a few frames.

Just around the corner

People have a general preconception that they need to go places in order to shoot interesting frames, to travel, to see something they have not seen before. I think that’s a misconception. If you cannot see the beauty and magnificence in the ordinary around the corner, how will you see it somewhere else? The grass isn’t really greener on the other side, it’s all in ones frame of mind. How about getting your photo-bag on your back, your backside on your bike and go around shooting your hometown and its surroundings, I bet you’d find a lot of magic just around the corner.

I did.

Cream of the crop

Erika and I were married in the summer 2009 with a small ceremony only with the closest family and dearest friends in attendance. My father, and one of my closest friends Andreas, took a lot of wedding photos. This one here is my absolute favorite, but I honestly can’t say if it was my dad or Andreas who shot it! We even had this photo enlarged and framed for a photo wall in our bedroom. I just love this photo, and I love her, with all my heart.

Life happens while you’re too busy making other plans

Wow. Last post last of August? A lot has happened since then, but perhaps not in the way of photography. Truthfully, life has been pretty good on throwing both obstacles and challenges on me revolving anything but. We’re talking research committee hearings and presentations, writing publications and exams, but also traveling to the States and heart-aching beautiful San Diego, CA, where I managed to at least shoot a few memorable frames. I will post those soon along with several other series currently collecting digital dust on my HD.

Blue cross

One of the very first photos I shot with the camera I’m currently using. I’ve been searching through the hard drive high and low, but apparently, the high resolution image is lost and gone. Too bad. I love that photo. But nonetheless, low-res is better than nothing at all.

No camera

The feeling is best described as losing some important part of your body.

My wife is on holiday in Alanya with our daughter and extended family. One of the first text messages I received was that my Canon camera had checked out. After some text messaging between Sweden and Turkey I’m fairly confident that the AF (Auto-Focus) machinery in my 18-55mm IS lens is broken. Not much to do about it though. Repair-shop later this week and most likely purchasing a new lens as well. I have my eyes set on an f1,2/1,4 50 mm lens well suited for those indoor shots without using flash. To summarize, I need a functional camera before heading off to San Diego, CA in mid-September.

Marstrand

On the west coast of Sweden there’s a small, and quite famous island, called Marstrand due to its sailing community and often a port during big ocean boat races like the Volvo ocean race.

However, I was there for work reasons.

You didn’t see me complain.
